Dewpoints at 4PM tomorrow are forecast to be steamy once again |
Though the "heat wave" has passed, the heat and humidity are still above early September averages. Dewpoints have consistently been between 70-75° during afternoon hours, which is downright sticky. It has been difficult to shake the heat thanks to high pressure placed over the mid-Atlantic coast. Tomorrow will be much like today; patchy fog in the early morning hours with highs near 90°. Mid-levels of the atmosphere will be slightly more unstable, so while the fluffy cumulus clouds will return, a stray shower or thundershower is also possible.
The greatest rain chances begin late Friday night as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Storms will be in a weakening mode upon arrival, but Saturday morning may be a wet one. The front may actually present itself in a couple rounds of precipitation, and will usher in cooler air for the weekend. Rain will dwindle by Saturday night, leaving Sunday to top out near . . . 80°? It's possible. Stay tuned to the WKU Storm Team as conditions change.
Tonight: Patchy fog around sunrise with a light south wind. Partly cloudy with a low of 71°.
Friday: Sun and clouds with a high near 89°. An isolated shower or thundershower is possible.Winds from the south at 5 mph.
Friday night: Mostly cloudy with winds becoming calm. Showers moving in late. Low around 71°
Have a good evening!
