Rainy Days Ahead?

Good Evening!

Conditions across the state today were great! We topped out with highs across our area in the mid to upper 80s. We were also able to stay dry once again here in Bowling Green. Will we be able to stay that way over the next few days? I'll have an extended look later in the post.

As for tomorrow, we will continue to see pretty much persistent weather conditions as highs tomorrow are forecast to be in the mid 80s once again. But this could be the last day of this nice pattern as our eyes will turn to the next weather maker that we have lined up for the end of this week, just in time for Fall Break!

IR Satellite from 4:30-6:00 9/30/2014
Here is a brief loop of the current infrared satellite that shows our next weather maker lined up over the great plains sparking some storms along a strong cold front. This front will be what pushes through our area later this week and will bring with it a significant cool down.

Rain chances with this system will be some of the highest that we have seen here in quite a while. We may even see a few isolated thunderstorms, none of these storms are expected to be severe, but some heavy rain is definitely a possibility.

Day 1-3 QPF from WPC
Above is the day 1-3 Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) for the United States. This shows the areas that look to receive the most rainfall over the next three days. Notice that Bowling green sets in an area to get upwards of 1" of rain. Arden will have more on our rain chances on tomorrows blog.

Forecast:

Tonight: Patchy fog late, but otherwise mostly clear skies, winds calm. Low: 56°

Tomorrow: Mostly clear skies throughout the day, with patchy fog possible early in the morning with light and variable winds. High: 85°

Tomorrow Night:  Mostly clear skies with light and variable winds. Low: 59°

As always stay up to date with the latest weather here daily on the blog or on one of our social media outlets @wkustormteam on twitter or on Facebook

Have a Great Night!
