Frost Advisory Tonight as Clear Conditions Continue

It has been an absolutely beautiful day across the area today!  Bowling Green hit a high temperature of 63° under clear blue skies, and the surrounding areas were much the same.  If you were not able to get outside and enjoy it today, do not worry.  This gorgeous weather is going to be sticking with us for a while.

Tomorrow is going to be another sunny day with temperatures in the mid-60s similar to today.  High pressure is going to continue to dominate our area for the next few days and keep our conditions clear.  So, it looks as if we will not be seeing any rain until next week.

This image displays watches, warnings, statements and advisories issued by the National Weather Service
Active Watch/Warnings Map from NWS.  Counties in blue are included in the Frost Advisory.

These clear skies are also going to lead to some rather chilly nights.  Cloud cover actually helps to keep the area insulated.  However, without any clouds, temperatures can drop quite a bit as all of the heat from the day escapes into the atmosphere.  Tonight we can expect such clear skies and very little wind.  These conditions combined with low level moisture are conducive to frost formation, which is why there is a Frost Advisory in effect from 4:00 AM until 8:00 AM.  The counties included in this advisory are shown in the graphic above.

Looking ahead, the rest of the week looks like much of the same with mostly sunny skies.  High temperatures are expected to get steadily warmer as we progress toward the weekend.  However, temperatures are not expect to reach higher than the mid-70s.

Forecast:

Tonight:  Clear skies, lows near 35°, and very light winds out of the north.

Tomorrow:  Sunny skies, highs near 64°, and light winds out of the north.

Tomorrow Night:  Mostly clear skies, lows near 42°, and calm winds.

Thanks for reading, and have a great night!
