More Storms Coming?

Good Evening!

Today has been yet another wonderful day across the region! Skies cleared out earlier in the afternoon making way for some nice sunshine and allowing temperatures to warm into the mid to upper 70s across southern Kentucky, but these nice conditions will not last as we have yet another chance of some storms later this afternoon.

Bowling Green proper is not included in any SPC risk areas for severe weather, but areas just off to the northeast are included in a slight risk (pictured below).

SPC Day 1 Outlook

Hart county is included in a tornado WATCH until 8:00 PM CDT, but weather does not know man made boundaries. Any storm at any time could be severe, so we definitely need to pay close attention to any storms that fire tonight, especially within the tornado watch.

If we look at the High Resolution Rapid Refresh model output of simulated reflectivity for tonight we see a line of showers and thunderstorms looks to fire off to the northwest. These showers and storms will move through our area between 7 and 11:00 PM CDT.

HRRR Simulated Reflectivity from 7:00 to Midnight CDT (Via COD)
With any storms that move through the area tonight the main threats will be heavy rain, and strong winds. Some storms may become strong or severe.

Forecast:

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms possible, some storms could be severe (especially to the north and east) otherwise partly to mostly cloudy skies with winds out of the southwest at 5-10 mph. Low: 54°

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny skies with a northwest wind near 5 mph. Warm. High: 75°

Tomorrow Night: Light and variable winds under partly cloudy skies. Low: 52°

We will have the latest weather information on Facebook and Twitter as the night progresses.

Have a Great Night!
