Rainy Monday

Today, southwesterly flow gave us warm temperatures to finish out Thanksgiving break. According to the National Weather Service, Bowling Green hit 69° for the high with wind gusts up to 30 mph. This temperature, while warmer than normal and definitely warmer than what we've been experiencing this past month, is still below today's record high (76° in 2006).

Temperatures will remain fairly mild this week, but a cold front will make its way through our area tomorrow morning, causing temperatures to fall during the day. Winds will shift and become north by the afternoon, allowing cooler air to drop temperatures into the 40s for dinner time. Precipitation will accompany this front, with rain chances beginning early tomorrow morning and continuing into the evening hours. Make sure you have your umbrella handy!

Valid 6AM Monday

As temperatures fall and chances for precipitation continue, we could see a hint of wintry precipitation Monday night and into Tuesday morning. However, no real accumulation will occur; only some slick spots could result due to near-freezing temperatures. The WKU Storm Team will have more details in tomorrow night's blog post.

Forecast

Tonight: Scattered showers will begin in the early morning hours, with temperatures remaining fairly mild ahead of the cold front. Low of 51° around 6 AM. South winds 5-10 mph will transition to flow from the northwest. Wind gusts of 20 mph possible.

Monday: Scattered showers, with temperatures dropping throughout the day. High of 51°, with temperatures down into the 40s for the afternoon. Winds becoming north at 10 mph.

Monday Night: 50% chance of rain. Low of 35°. Winds from the northeast up to 10 mph.

Thanks for reading and have a great night!
