The above map shows the peak wind gusts for the day as recorded by the Kentucky Mesonet. |
Looking ahead expect temperatures to be lower than the perfect football weather we had Saturday for our final home football game where WKU became bowl eligible for the fourth straight year. This is caused in part by a deep upper-level trough ,centered currently over the plains region, funnels cold polar air southward. This trough will retreat a bit as it moves over our area so we probably won't see the worst of it but temperatures none the less should be significantly colder than this past weekend over the next few days.
Rain should not be a problem tomorrow as the low associated with the cold front moves out to replaced by a weak high pressure. This means clear skies are ahead which will allow the temperatures to drop more during the night so be sure to bundle up as you leave for work in the morning but be prepared to shed a couple of light layers as the sun comes out and warms everything up.
Forecast:
Tonight- Mostly clear low near 33°F moderate winds from the west to southwest.
Tomorrow- Sunny and clear with a high near 47°F. Calm westerly winds.
Tomorrow Night- A few clouds with a low near 28°F. Winds form the Northwest and calming overnight.
Also since I gave a shout out to the football team let me send one out to our volleyball team as in their first year in Conference USA they claimed both a regular season championship and a victory in the post season as well. A great way to cap off Coach Hudson's 20th year as head coach and a great fall for WKU Athletics. Now it's time to start the run to everyone's favorite college sporting event march madness.
Thanks for reading and go Tops!!!!!!!!
