Wintry Mix Tonight, Colder Day Tomorrow

Today was quite dreary, as scattered showers entered the region among overcast skies. Temperatures were nice, however, with Bowling Green hitting right below 50° for the high. Precipitation will continue into the overnight hours, but temperatures will be on the decline.

As the evening progresses, low pressure currently situated over Illinois will shift east into our area. Precipitation associated with this system will continue overnight, but will transition from rain to snow. This is due to a sharp cold front that will be moving through behind the low pressure system and will be dropping temperatures drastically. Light snow - and possibly some freezing rain - will stick around early Monday. Temperatures tonight look to drop into the upper 20s by 6 AM.

The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement detailing that a light wintry mix tonight could lead to slick spots tomorrow. Please be cautious during your Monday morning commute!

As for Monday, clouds will continue to stick around throughout the day. Temperatures will be much colder than they were today, struggling to hit the mid 30s here in Bowling Green due to the passage of the cold front and cold air advection behind it. Another chance for light precipitation will occur Monday night, with snow being the predominant precipitation type.
