Cool Down Ahead?

Good Evening!

Today was another hot summer day across southern Kentucky. High temperatures across the region were in the low to mid 90s. We will see a brief cool down over the next couple of days behind a cold front that moved through our area late this afternoon. This front did bring with it a few showers and thunderstorms but most areas did not see any rainfall.

The next couple of days look to be nice, and dry as high temperatures relax into the 80s. But temperatures will quickly return to normal by the weekend as another system moves into the area bringing with it another good chance of rain and thunderstorms. We will have more on this as we get closer.  This system looks to have a bit cooler air behind it that could bring our high temperatures back into the 70s!

But as of right now it is too far out for us to be able to tell exactly how cool the temperatures will be behind this next system. Make sure to stay tuned to the WKU Storm Team on Facebook and Twitter, and of course here on the blog for the latest forecast updates!
