Cooler Day Tomorrow

After receiving another taste of 80° temperatures this past weekend, cooler air is on the way for the start of your workweek. A cold front has made its way across our area throughout the afternoon, bringing that chance of rain earlier this morning. According to the Kentucky Mesonet, Bowling Green did not pick up any precipitation from this system; rather, dense clouds simply lingered ahead of the front.

Surface Map as of 2:04 PM CDT Sunday

A digging upper-level trough will bring cooler temperatures from Canada tonight and tomorrow; highs will struggle to make it past 70° on Monday, leaving us with temperatures over 10° cooler than they were today. As for tonight, strong cold air advection from the north and clearing skies will bring lows down into the upper 40s and low 50s. Mostly sunny skies should persist during the day tomorrow, as cooler and less humid air continues to filter in behind this front. With every trough comes a ridge; the next ridge will increase the temperatures by a few degrees every day this week, as high pressure dominates the region.
