Heat Increasing, Storms Possible

It was a pretty warm and muggy day out there today, and unfortunately it is going to get worse before it gets better. Our high temperatures are going to get progressively warmer as we go through the rest of our week. By this weekend we could see temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and heat index values over 100.

We have southwesterly winds continuing to bring hot and humid air into our region. Along with all this heat and humidity, we are also dealing with some instability in the atmosphere. Due to this instability, there is a chance we could see some scattered showers and thunderstorms across the area, and some of those thunderstorms may become strong or even severe. With thunderstorms and sweltering heat in the forecast, make sure you stay safe and up-to-date when it comes to your weather this week.

Forecast:

Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies, a 30% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, lows near 72, and winds out of the SSW at around 3-5 mph.

Tomorrow: Partly sunny skies, a 30% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, highs near 93, and winds out of the west at around 5-8 mph.

Tomorrow Night: Partly cloudy skies, a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, lows near 73, and winds out of the SSW at around 4-6 mph.

Have a great night!
