Rain Leaving, Heat and Humidity Sticking Around

We just had the wettest August in Bowling Green's history with a total of 11.33" of rain, and now we are already adding to our total for September with 0.08" of rain yesterday and 0.85" so far today!  Unfortunately, that rain has not cooled us off as much as some of us may have hoped.  The high temperature in Bowling Green has been 89° both yesterday and today, and it looks as if this summer heat is going to be sticking with us for this first week of September.

As shown in the graphic below, a weak cold front is going to make it's way through the area during the overnight and early morning hours, and we could still see some scattered showers and thunderstorms out ahead of that front.  Most of those storms are expected to stay just south of us.  However, some of you along the Kentucky-Tenessee line may still see a few more showers and thunderstorms this evening.

Forecast of Fronts/Pressure and Weather valid Wed 00Z

Those storms are all going to clear out of here well before tomorrow morning, but the humidity is going to be sticking around.  Although our high temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s tomorrow, it is going to be so muggy that it is going to feel like the mid 90s.  It may be September, but summer is not over yet!

Forecast:

Tonight:  Mostly cloudy, 20% chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms before midnight, and
lows near 69°, with light winds out of the southwest.

Tomorrow:  Mostly sunny skies, a slight chance for a stray showers or thunderstorm, highs near 89°, and winds out of the SSW at around 5 mph.

Tomorrow Night:  Partly cloudy skies,  lows near 68°, and light winds out of the south.

Have a great night!
