The most rain on Wednesday fell in Butler and Edmonson Counties |
This clearing will continue through tonight, and we should wake up to mostly clear skies as the sun rises. We've been under the average temperatures for mid-October, but tomorrow will be a return to warmth. With clouds mostly gone during the day, sunshine will offer us some heat. In addition, winds will be from the southwest, which should aid in transporting some warm air our way. We've had our quota for rainfall and then some, but you may be interested to know that rain chances are virtually none for the next week. Tomorrow's temperatures will be the exception however, not the rule.
A weak cold front should work from northwest to southeast through south-central Kentucky tomorrow afternoon and evening. There will be no moisture associated with this front, so clouds should stay relatively thin. The noticeable effect will be the change in temperatures. The evening should cool off rapidly and the low should be very close to tonight. However, Saturday's highs will be significantly different. It shouldn't get any warmer than the mid 60s. During this time, the winds will rotate to a northwesterly flow, and high pressure will overspread the Midwest.
Tonight: Low of 48° under mostly cloudy skies. Light south winds.
Friday: Sunny and a high around 77°. Winds from the west at 5-10 mph.
Friday night: A low near 47°. Mostly clear and northwest winds around 5 mph.
