Return of Sunshine and Little Secrets

After what has felt like days upon end of dreariness and rain around town, our virtual trip to Seattle is wrapping up as sunshine will return to the area by days end.

NOAA Visible Satellite Imagery 10-16-2014

Here you're seeing the visible satellite image of current cloud cover, but take note of the clearing across Missouri, Western Illinois, and even extreme western portions of Kentucky. That will gradually make it's way to south central Kentucky through the day, and we should get a few peaks of sun this afternoon and evening.

But before that, we've got quite a bit more cloud cover to go through as our upper level area of low pressure continues to spin off to the northeast, so the day will continue to be mostly cloudy and dreary. So if we can endure the dreariness just a teeny bit longer, the light at the end of the tunnel is near. Meanwhile, you'll want dress a bit warmer as highs top out in the low 60s.

I'll let you in on a little secret. We could see temperatures returning to the 70s in the near future. If that sounds warm and promising to you, be sure to drop by the blog for tonight's evening post!

Have a good one!
