Cold Will Continue

It was quite a chilly day across the area today!  As shown in the graphic below, temperatures are running well below normal across the country.  Some places to the west had temperatures as much as 48° below average!  Stubborn clouds kept our temperatures even colder than expected today, and Bowling Green did not even make it out of the 30s this afternoon.  Our average high temperature for this time of year is 61°!  Talk about a cold snap!

The rest of the week does not look like it is going to be any warmer.  Tomorrow will be similar to today with highs in the upper 30s, but some of these low level clouds should finally make their way out of here.  So, although it won’t quite be sunny, it will not seem as dreary as today.  The high pressure system currently located just east of the Rocky Mountains is going to really begin to build into our region on Friday.  So, although the end of your work week will be cold, at least it will be clear!

Looking a little further head, we may see some snow this weekend.  However, this is not pretty snow that we are talking about here.  Saturday night and throughout the day on Sunday we have a chance for a rain snow mix.  We will have more details on the timing and type(s) of precipitation with that system as it draws closer.

Forecast:

Tonight:  Cloudy, lows near 26°, and winds out of the north at around 5-7 mph.

Tomorrow:  Mostly cloudy, highs near 38°, and winds out of the northwest at around 6-8 mph.

Tomorrow Night:  Partly cloudy, lows near 21°, and winds out of the northwest at around 3-5 mph.

Thanks for reading, and have a great night!
