Temperatures dropped
quickly yesterday as a cold front passed through the area during the afternoon and
evening hours. The map below shows the temperature change in the last 24 hours across the country, and the position of that front just off of Kentucky's eastern border is quite visible due to the drop in temperatures it is leaving in its wake. As this cold air mass continues to work its
way across the US, our high temperatures are going to be about 20° cooler than
they were yesterday. We will top out in
the low to mid 40s today, and the rest of this week will not be any warmer as
temperatures will struggle to even make it to 40°. High pressure will be building in behind this
frontal system and bringing clear conditions to go along with our cold
temperatures, but is still off to our northwest at this time. So, for today, we will still be dealing with
some lingering cloud cover.
