Less Windy, Not as Warm

It was certainly a windy day out there today, but at least it was not so bitterly cold!  High temperatures got closer to normal than expected today.  Despite morning lows in the teens we managed to make it into the lower 50s across the area.  As shown in the graphic below, temperatures across the region increased rather dramatically over the past 24 hours despite remaining below average for this time of year.  This time yesterday temperatures were nearly 20° cooler.

A dry cold front is going to move through our region rather quickly tonight and bring our temperatures back down a bit.  Overnight lows will be in the mid 20s, and highs tomorrow will just barely make it to the 40° mark.  Although tomorrow will not be quite as warm as today, it will not be as windy either.

Looking ahead, the cold front moving through tonight will be well to our east by tomorrow morning, but another slower moving system will be affecting us this weekend.  This system will be bringing warmer temperatures as well as a chance for rain throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Forecast:

Tonight:  Partly cloudy skies, lows near 25°, and winds out of the SSW at around 4-8 mph.

Tomorrow:  Mostly sunny skies, highs near 40°, and winds out of the west at around 4-8 mph.

Tomorrow Night:  Partly cloudy skies, lows near 25°, and light and variable winds.

Thanks for reading, and have a great night!
