It has been a bitter cold
day out there today! Bowling Green hit an
official high of 26° very early this morning, and temperatures have slowly fallen
throughout the day since then. As shown
in the graphic below, many places are now 20° colder than they were at this time
yesterday. We have now broken into the
single digits with subzero wind chills.

As shown below, subzero
wind chills are dominating the region.
Wind chills could be as low as -10° degrees at times. The National Weather Service in Louisville
has issued a wind chill advisory for our area which is in effect until 9:00 AM
tomorrow. This is a dangerous kind of cold.
Please bring your pets inside and bundle up well if you have to go out.

Thankfully, tomorrow night will
not be quite as cold. However, tomorrow will
still be downright chilly with high temperatures only reaching the low
20s. Temperatures are not expected to make
it past the 20s for the rest of this week.
So, keep those coats handy!
The arctic high that is
bringing us these bitter cold temperatures is also going to be keeping us
dry. So, there should not be anything
more than maybe a stray morning flurry to worry about. This week, we just have to make it through
the bitter cold. However, the start of
next week looks to be a bit warmer and wetter with a chance for rain and
temperatures back up to 40°.
Forecast:
Tonight: Mostly clear skies, lows near 2°, wind chills as low
as -5°, and winds out of the northwest at around 4-8 mph. Wind chill advisory in effect until 9AM
tomorrow.
Tomorrow: Partly cloudy, highs near 22°, and winds out of the
south at around 5-10 mph.
Tomorrow Night:
Mostly cloudy, lows near
18°, and winds out of the southwest at around 10-15 mph.
Thanks for reading, and
stay warm!
