Below Average Temperatures Continue

It will be another chilly day out there today.  We started off in the low to mid teens this morning and will see highs only in the upper 30s this afternoon.  Noormally we would have lows in the low 30s and highs in the low 50s this time of year.  So, our temperatures are running 15 to 20° below average right now.

Today will be relatively uneventful during the day, but we may see a little snow tonight.  As shown in the graphic below, there is a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 4:00pm today until 6:00am tomorrow for many areas south and east of Bowling Green including Allen County and Barren County.  A storm system moving through tonight and tomorrow could produce some snow over our region.  Bowling Green and most of the surrounding areas may receive a dusting to an inch of snow from this system.  Counties included in the Winter Weather Advisory could see one to two inches from this system.

Areas in purple are under a Winter Weather Advisory.  Areas in pink are under a Winter Storm Warning.  Map courtesy of the National Weather Service.
So, today looks to be a bit cloudy with cooler than average temperatures, but prepare for some slight snow chances tonight and into tomorrow.  Only minor accumulations are expected.  We will have more details on that system in this evening’s blog.

Forecast:  Mostly cloudy skies, highs near 38°, and winds becoming east at around 5 mph.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
