Light Snow Possible Tonight and Tomorrow

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for many counties south and east of Warren County, including Allen County and Barren County, until 6:00am CST.  These areas could accumulate one to two inches of snow this evening and into the overnight hours.  Untreated roadways could become slick and hazardous.

As shown above, a low pressure system tracking through the Deep South is bringing rain and snow to much of the southern portion of the United States.  Some of the precipitation from this system will wrap around into Tennessee and South-Central Kentucky, which will bring us a slight chance of snow tonight into tomorrow.  As shown in the graphic below, minor accumulations of a dusting to an inch are expected across most of the area, but areas that are under the Winter Weather Advisory could potentially see up to two inches.

We could see another very slight chance of snow tomorrow night as another low pressure system, which is current located over Missouri, moves east into our region during the day tomorrow.  Little to no accumulations are expected with that system.

Temperatures will remain well below average for the next few days.  Normally our highs would be in the lower 50s and our lows would be in the lower 30s this time of year.  However, we have not seen temperatures in the 50s in Bowling Green for two weeks now.  Highs for the rest of this week will be in the 20s and 30s, and lows will be dipping down into the teens both Thursday and Friday night.  So, we may return to more seasonable temperatures next week, but we will be hanging onto the cold for the rest of this one.

Forecast:

Tonight:  Cloudy skies, a 30% chance of scattered snow showers, lows near 26°, and light winds out of the north.

Tomorrow:  Mostly cloudy skies, a 30% chance of scattered rain and snow showers, highs near 34°, and winds out of the north at around 3-6 mph.

Tomorrow Night:  Mostly cloudy, a very slight chance of scattered snow showers, lows near 15°, and winds out of the north at around 5-10 mph.

Thanks for reading, and have a great night!
