Warm and rainy conditions give way to a Significant Winter Storm

Good Tuesday evening, fellow readers.  After a brief reprieve from mother nature's freezer, temperatures will take a nose dive into the 30s during the day Wednesday due to a passage of an arctic cold front. After the passage, the front will stall to the east, leaving Bowling Green and much of the state in a favorable location for a winter storm.

The National Weather Service has placed all of south-central Kentucky in a Winter Storm WARNING which will begin at Noon central time. Current models have indicated that we will change over from plain rain to sleet and/or snow around dusk tomorrow evening. Locations that receive more sleet (frozen ice-pellets),will be on the lower of the totals seen below. If the changeover begins earlier than expected and colder-air infiltrates the columns down to the surface, snow totals will likely be higher. Stay tuned for further updates as changes will be expected and made.
