Scattered Rain Continues

Today was a little soggier and, as a result, a bit cooler than expected.  The rain was rather scattered today, and some places picked up much more rain than others.  The Bowling Green Kentucky Mesonet site only measured about 0.07 inches of rain since midnight.  However, just a few miles west in Glasgow, they measured nearly 0.6 inches.

Tonight, the rain will continue as scattered showers continue to work their way through our area.  Rain chances will then linger into tomorrow as the scattered showers continue through the morning hours.  However, as we head into tomorrow night the rain chances will decrease and the showers will become more isolated.  As shown in the graphic below, flooding from all the rain we have seen has already become an issue for many local waterways.  The Green River is just one of many rivers included in Flood Warnings at this time.

Areas currently under Flood Warnings are shown in green.  Many areas adjacent to the Green River are under a Flood Warning until late Friday night.
Temperatures today only made it into the mid 60s.  Hopefully we will make it to 70° tomorrow, but we may fall short once again since the weather looks rather similar.  Either way, temperatures will be in the 60s most of the day once again tomorrow, which is fairly seasonable for April.  Our normal high temperature for this time of year is 69°.

Looking ahead, Friday brings yet another chance of scattered showers, and rain chances continue into the weekend as well.  However, we are expecting to see a very slight warm up as we head toward the weekend.  High temperatures Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are expected to be in the low to mid 70s.  Then, we will finally get a break from all this rain next week, but temperatures will return to the 60s.

Forecast:

Tonight:  Cloudy skies, a 60% chance of scattered showers, lows near 58°, and winds out of the southeast at around 4-8 mph.

Tomorrow:  Cloudy skies, a 40% chance of scattered showers, highs near 70°, and winds out of the south at around 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow Night:  Cloudy skies, a 20% chance of isolated showers, lows near 58°, and winds out of the south at around 2-6 mph.

Thanks for reading, and have a great night!
