Our weekend will continue to feel pleasant. The surface high should continue on to the mid-Atlantic overnight, making room for a few more clouds. Expect partly cloudy conditions with a low near 52°. We return to typical late-May weather tomorrow with highs approaching the 80s. Once again, skies will be partly cloudy and winds now out of the southeast. This shouldn’t be like the 80s of earlier this week though. It won’t feel sticky or humid because the dewpoints will be well below 65°. The air will feel dry and not too warm. Definitely make plans to enjoy the outdoors this weekend, because rain will be threatening come Memorial Day.

Rain should stay just to our west through Sunday evening |
Don’t cancel plans on Sunday though, because with some luck we will stay dry. Right now I’m keeping a 20% chance for rain on the board because the models haven’t let go of the idea of showers just yet. Still, Sunday should be partly cloudy with highs in the mid-80s. Better chances for precip arrive on Monday, which may be accompanied by a few thunderstorms. It will be the start of a wet week, with off-and-on showers and storms. Slightly above-normal temperatures should persist.
