Wet Start to the Week

Good evening Bowling Green! This weekend has sure been a wet one; while many of our lawns needed the rain, it wasn't exactly welcomed for the WKU graduation ceremonies here yesterday. There is an end to this rain in sight, but not before a few more rounds move through tomorrow.

The system that brought heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds earlier this afternoon will continue moving eastward out of our forecast area this evening. Rain chances will diminish overnight as temperatures cool and our atmosphere becomes more stable; however, an isolated shower or storm cannot be ruled out.

Scattered showers and storms are expected through Monday, with rain chances picking up during the afternoon hours. Southwesterly winds (between 5-10 mph) will allow high temperatures to hit right around the 80° mark - just a few degrees above normal for this time of year.

Rain chances will die down Monday night as a cold front moves through the area. A few lingering showers and storms may stick around Monday night, but the front will bring cooler and drier air to south central Kentucky for Tuesday. Temperatures will drop into the low 60s late Monday night.
