It has been sizzling in
south central Kentucky! The high
temperature in Bowling Green was 92° today, but the heat index reached into the
triple digits earlier this afternoon. Last
night was also very warm. Our low this
morning was only 77°, which ties the record for warmest low temperature on this
date in Bowling Green.
Tonight will not be quite
as warm, but we will still only fall into the low 70s. Tomorrow will be hot once again with highs
near 90° as shown in the graphic below.
Dewpoints are expected to be in the upper 60s tomorrow, which is still uncomfortably
humid. However, dewpoints were in the mid to upper 70s today, which is
considered oppressive.

Hopefully the heat index
will stay below 100° tomorrow. However,
the graphic below is a map of the forecasted heat indices for 1:00 CDT tomorrow
afternoon, and it shows a heat index of 96° over Bowling Green. So, it will still be hot and feel even hotter. Take precautions if you are going to be
outside for extended periods of time or while working or exercising.

We will have more details
on your rain chances later in the week. Looking
ahead, the start of next week looks cooler and more comfortable once that front
moves through this weekend. However, for
the rest of the work week, the main concern is going to be this heat. Stay hydrated, stay in the shade when
possible, and take regular breaks if you are doing work outside.
