It has been a sultry day
across south central Kentucky. Bowling
Green reached an official high of 89°.
However, when you factor in the humidity, it felt much hotter with heat
index values in the triple digits at times.
The good news is that we
will only have one more day of this oppressive heat and humidity. The bad news that we still have to get
through one more day of these hot and muggy conditions. Hang in there!

As shown above, tomorrow will be rather
similar with highs in the low 90s and heat index values over 100°. With this kind of heat and, more importantly,
such high humidity, some scattered showers and thunderstorms are to be
expected. There is only a marginal
threat for severe weather, but a strong or severe storm is possible.

Wednesday afternoon and
evening will be our best shot at rain ahead of a cold front that will make its
way through the region as illustrated above. Following that cold
front will be some relieving cooler, drier air.
On Thursday, temperatures are going to be in the upper 80s. However, as shown below, the much lower humidity will cause it to actually feel like the upper 80s and heat index values will not be a
concern.

Looking further ahead, we
will see highs in the upper 80s and low 90s Friday and on through the
weekend. After Thursday, we will be dry
with plenty of sunshine on into the start of next week. Our normal high for this time of year is 90°,
so this weekend actually looks quite seasonable for late July.
Forecast:

Tomorrow: Partly sunny skies, a 30% chance of scattered showers

Thanks for reading, and
