Unseasonable Heat Ending Soon

It was hot and humid out there today!  Bowling Green reached an official high temperature of 92° this afternoon.  However, when you factor in the humidity, it felt even hotter.  Tomorrow will be similar, but there is some relief from the heat in the forecast.

Temperatures will top out in the low 90s tomorrow and, as shown below, heat indices will climb into the mid to upper 90s.  However, that will be the end of this unseasonable heat.  After tomorrow, our high temperatures will be closer to our normal high temperature of 85° once again.

Forecasted heat indices for 4:00PM CDT on Tuesday, September 8th courtesy of the National Weather Service.
That decrease in temperatures will be due to a cold front which, as shown below, will approach the region Tuesday night.  Our rain chances will increase and temperatures will decrease on Wednesday when that cold front arrives.

Looking further ahead, rain chances will decrease again after the passage of the cold front on Wednesday and high temperatures will be in the low 80s for the second half of the week.  We still have quite a few days to go, but right now this weekend looks like it will be very pleasant!

Forecast:

Tonight:  Mostly clear skies, lows near 68°, and light winds out of the southeast.

Tomorrow:  Patchy fog possible early in the morning, mostly sunny skies, a slight chance of isolated afternoon showers, highs near 92°, and winds out of the south at around 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow Night:  Mostly cloudy skies, a slight chance of showers and storms, lows near 70°, and winds out of the south at around 3-5 mph.

Thanks for reading, and have a great night!
