Some Sun with Scattered T'Storms

Good Sunday to you. Today we're finally seeing some sun, something that was completely absent yesterday. Overcast skies and a constant, dreary drizzle kept our temperatures below 60° throughout Saturday. Clouds are breaking up around the lunch hour, which should add some warmth as we go through the afternoon. Highs should be in the mid-70s. The dewpoint is already at 62°, and it may increase slightly in the next few hours, but humid weather is not anticipated.

Today's severe outlook from the SPC

With this warm and moist air mass in place, there is the risk of strong to severe storms this afternoon and evening. A couple of scattered waves will develop to our south and west, and these storms may sustain updrafts. The Storm Prediction Center, in response, has placed us in a slim risk for wind and hail, with a marginal tornado threat as well. The WKU Storm Team will keep you alerted should anything develop.
