Cold and Dry End to the Year

Good morning!

The last day of the year will be one of the coldest we have seen this month.  Temperatures are going to struggle to make it above freezing today.  On average, our high temperatures are around 45° this time of year.  So, as shown in the graphic below, our high temperature today will be about 10-15° below normal.

Today may be a cold end to our year, but at least it will also be a dry one!  As high pressure continues to build in from the west, the scattered cloud cover will clear a bit more and leave us with partly cloudy skies.  No precipitation is expected.

Looking ahead, the first day of 2015 looks to be a bit more seasonable with temperatures working their way toward the low 40s under mostly sunny skies.  However, tomorrow night into Friday we have a chance of some wintry precipitation, which will then turn to rain for your weekend.  Check back tonight and tomorrow for more details on that system.

Forecast:  Partly cloudy skies, highs near 32°, and winds out of the northwest at around 5 mph.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
