It was a beautiful day
out there today with highs in the mid to upper 70s under a mix of sun and
clouds. However, the rest of this week
will be quite different. Rain will move
into the area and temperatures will begin to fall due to the upcoming passage
of a cold front.
The cold front shown in
the graphic below will work its way into our area very late tonight and early
tomorrow morning. That cold front will
bring with it scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm. There is a chance of severe weather with the
portion of this system that will be affecting Oklahoma, Arkansas, and
Missouri. However, no severe weather is
expected in our area. The rain may be rather persistent during the day
tomorrow, but it will move out of our region that evening.

The passage of this
frontal system will also bring a steady fall in temperatures throughout the day
tomorrow. We will start the day in the mid to upper 50s, but we will dip into
the 40s later in the afternoon before falling into the mid 30s overnight
tomorrow night. Normally our high
temperature would be 63° this time of year.
So, we are moving from above average temperatures today to below average
temperatures tomorrow.
Looking ahead, Friday and
Saturday will both be dry as high pressure moves in to our north behind the
front. However, both days will also be
quite a bit cooler with highs only expected to make it into the mid 40s. We will see a slow warm up at the start of
next week along with another slight chance of showers.
Forecast:
Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies, a 40% chance of showers, lows
near 56°, and winds out of the south at around 5-10 mph.
Tomorrow: Cloudy skies, an 80% chance of showers with
thunderstorms possible, highs near 58° with temperatures slowly falling into
the 40s throughout the day, and winds out of the southwest in the morning and
the north in the afternoon at around 6-12 mph.
Tomorrow Night:
Mostly cloudy skies, a
20% chance of showers, lows near 34°, and winds out of the north at around 3-6
mph.
Thanks for reading, and
have a great night!
