It was cool and cloudy
across south central Kentucky today. As
shown in the graphic below, some showers moved through the area yesterday and
last night. During the day today, rain
was not much of an issue. However, the
cloud cover was very persistent.
Partially thanks to all those clouds, high temperatures only made it
into the mid 60s today. Highs were only in
the upper 60s yesterday, so June has not been off to a particularly warm start. Our normal high temperature this time of year
is 83°, nearly 20° warmer than today’s high.

For those of you missing the summerlike weather, we have good news! Sunshine and warmer temperatures will both be
returning to the forecast this week. As
shown below, depending on how much sunshine we see, we are expecting
temperatures to warm into the upper 70s and possibly even flirt with the 80°
mark tomorrow. Highs will be in the low
to mid 80s the rest of this week. So, it
will be much more seasonable than the past couple of days have been.

We do have a very slight
chance of some isolated showers and storms Thursday afternoon, but those will
likely stay to our east. We will also
have another chance of showers and storms late Friday and into the weekend as a
weak low pressure system moves through the area. However, overall, the next couple of days
will consist of just a mix of sun and clouds, and any rain we see later in the
week will likely be rather hit or miss.
We will have more details
on those rain chances later in the week.
For now, the weather for the next couple of days looks rather
pleasant. Get out and enjoy it if you
can!
